Comfort is a major factor in whether a Soccer player will utilize a shin guard and the weight of the guard is one of the most important components in comfort. The lighter the shin guard the easier it will be for the player to run, kick, and compete in the play of the game. However, safety is the most important.
In testing by the Institute for Preventative Sports Medicine (IPSM), Doctors found that the SHIN PAL guards had the highest reduction of force (64.1 - 68.3%) in relationship to the lightest weight (2 oz) of all the shin guards tested. These SHIN PAL shin guards are MADE in the USA , BRAND NEW , and come in their original packaging. They are a size Medium and will fit most adults and children. The actual length of the shin guard is approximately 9 1/2" (total length minus the ankle protector length).

As noted above, the length of the SHIN PAL shin guards offered in this auction is approximately 9 1/2" . This is the working part of the guard that actually protects the shin bone. Laid flat, the total dimensions of the guards are approximately 11 1/2" long by 6 1/2" wide, which includes the ankle protectors. The ankle protectors are attached to the lower part of the shin guard, do not protect the shin bone, and can be removed. However, for children under 12 years of age, the ankle protectors are highly recommended.
